Helping You with Your Amazon FBA Business

Daily Diary: BQool Feature, Blogging Numbers and More

Hello!  This is my 2nd “Daily Diary” post.  I’m doing this to get out of my blogging funk.  To be honest, I had a very hard time writing this one because I didn’t feel like it.  I’m not perfect and I have bad days and good days.

With that said, yesterday was a productive day.  I woke up at 3:00 am and started with repricing and mass deleting old product listings.

New BQool Feature

I use BQool for my repricing and they just added in this new feature:

This new feature makes it easy to see how many other Sellers that I’m competing against (green) and if my price is the lowest, highest or somewhere in between (light blue button).   Pressing this button expands out so you can see the exact pricing of every Seller.  This saves you time from having to click through to Amazon.

Then I went back to bed until 6 am.

Know Your Numbers Spreadsheet

I explained this spreadsheet in my first “Daily Diary” Post.  Be sure to go there and download your free copy.

Anyway, I like doing this spreadsheet first thing in the morning as it’s an easy task to warm my brain up.  🙂

Blogging

This Second Half Dreams blog is my “baby,” but it’s been stressing me out that I haven’t been writing very many blog posts.  To help fix that, I decided to start writing about what I did the day before.  I got this idea from the Homemade Entrepreneur who sends out short emails on what he’s working on.

I’m thankful for all of you that take the time to read my posts.  I know that some of you have been with me since I first started writing about selling on Amazon.  It’s amazing that over the past 3 years, my blog earnings went from just a few dollars a month to approximately $1,000 a month:

Thank you for buying products with my affiliate links!!

Of course, there are expenses but they are minimal:

  • Aweber Monthly Fee: $29
  • Annual Bluehost Hosting and Domain Registration: $177
  • Annual UPS Box: $192.  With email marketing, you have to supply an address so I rent a box from the UPS Store.  I like that they’re 3 minutes away from my home and that I can use them for my Amazon FBA shipping too.
  • Images from Fotolia: $35 per year

I know that there are plenty of bloggers that make much more than I do.  But I’m proud of where I’m at considering that I didn’t do a lot of things the “correct” way:

  • Did not start an email list right away
  • Do not have a cool email opt-in offer
  • Send very few emails to my subscribers
  • Do not spend time on SEO or keyword research
  • Do not have a blogging plan or a blog post plan
  • Don’t host webinars or create YouTube videos
The biggest tip that I know when it comes to blogging, learning Amazon FBA or Merch or ANYTHING is to work on it every day.  Take baby steps and you’ll get there!

Shoe and Book Sourcing

I subscribe to Quincy Lin’s GatedList and receive a shoe list every Tuesday and Thursday.  Yesterday I purchased 2 shoes from his list and then bought several more that I found on my own.

I also resubscribed to eFLIP and immediately found profitable books.  While doing so, I learned that Merchant Fulfilled Sellers can now charge strange shipping amounts.  Before it was always $3.99.

I’m halfway into meeting this week’s sourcing goal of $2600.00.

Listing Products for the Prep Center

Pacific Prep Services processes my online arbitrage shoes.  But I have to list the shoes in Seller Central first.  So, I spent about 20 minutes getting caught up on this.

I’ve been using Pacific Prep Services for a few months and haven’t had any problems with them.  Their customer service is outstanding and they use wide rubber bands on their shoe boxes.

Pacific Prep’s rubber band is on the right.

Emailing Back and Forth with J.

Throughout the day, I emailed with J. from Freeeup.  We are getting ready to start a new Merch project.

Merch Shirt

I designed a shirt in Make-Merch and uploaded it.  Amazon approved it within a couple of hours.

You sure do a lot of different things in the course of one day. How do you decide your priorities?

      Hi Teena,

That’s a good question that and I’m going to answer it in a blog post. So stay tuned and watch out for it. 🙂
